                        <title>UPDATE – Medical Episode Caused Driving Fatality</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/update--medical-episode-caused-driving-fatality/</guid><pp:caseid>374653</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p>The Collision Reconstruction Unit has concluded its investigation into a fatal motor vehicle collision from the fall of 2019.</p>

<p>On October 17, 2019, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Emergency Services were called to Barton Street East at Grays Road in Hamilton for a collision. All information indicated that the 73-year-old male driver of the 2008 Chevrolet passenger van had sustained a medical episode prior to losing control and striking a pole. He died on October 26, 2019, as a result of the injuries to his head.</p>

<p>The investigation has been concluded that speed and driver impairment were not contributing factors in this collision.</p>
